TrafficInfraTech Expo gets off to a vrooming start

TrafficInfraTech Magazine The fifth edition of TrafficInfraTech Expo was inaugurated today by the Secretary of Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH), Sanjay Mitra, at Bombay Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai. Also present at the inauguration ceremony were Leena Nandan, Joint Secretary, MoRTH; Dr Sreejith Narayanan, Associate Vice President, IL&FS Transportation Networks Ltd; Dr. Jagdish Patil (IAS), General Manager, Brihanmumbai Electric Supply & Transport Undertaking (BEST); and Pradeep Nagawekar, Chairman, Builders Association of India (BAI).

During the day, there was a constant flow of visitors and special guests to the expo. They included Shri Mansukh L Mandaliya, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways; Ahmed Qureshi, Deputy Mayor, Nanded Waghala City Municipal Corporation; Anand Chavan, former mayor of the same Corporation, many senior Police Officers from different states, representatives of enforcement agencies and various stakeholders in the field of traffic. About 100 exhibitors from over 20 countries are participating at the three-day Expo.

Shri Nitin Gadkari, Honourable Minister for Road Transport & Highways, sent a special audio-visual message as he could not make it to the expo due to a sudden international travel.

Over the three days, many discussions on important and contemporary topics have been organized. Leena Nandan, JS, MoRTH, Dr Sreejith Narayanan of IL&FS, Col (Retd) Kushwant Singh, Ex CGM (Tech), Tech Adviser, IHCML and Hasan M Naqvi, Chief General Manager (Tech), Road Safety Cell, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) spoke at the inaugural seminar on 'Smart Roads and Highways'.

A special award was given for Thiruvananthpuram City Road Improvement Project (TCRIP) of IL&FS to Anilkumar Pandala, Project Director of TCRIP by Secretary Sanjay Mitra.
